This is an opportunity to join a strong and growing team teaching a large cohort of students. As of 2017-18, we offer BA Criminology, BA Criminology and Policing, and BA Criminology and Security Studies at undergraduate level, and MA Criminology and MA Security Studies at postgraduate level.

This post will strengthen our teaching on the Criminology and Criminology, Policing and Investigation modules. To be appointed a SL level, the holder of this post would be expected to play a significant role in running the Masters programme, as well as mentoring and providing subject-specific guidance to early career members of the team, within the Department of Criminology and Sociology.

Area of specialism within the field is open, but applications from those whose experience of teaching and research complements the team’s existing competences are especially welcome for one of the posts.

Please be aware we are recruiting for two positions, one which may be appointed as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, and the other is a Lecturer post.

Please note that for a Lecturer position, holding a PhD in a relevant subject, or being close to finishing one, would be an advantage for an applicant.

For senior positions, all applicants are required to have a PhD in a relevant subject. Applicants for the senior position (SL) will need to demonstrate considerable teaching experience; administrative capabilities; and research outputs commensurate with the seniority of the post. 

All successful candidates will have a combination of a teaching load, administrative responsibilities appropriate to the post held, and research time.
