Research Associate/ Fellow in Chemical Complexity and Chemoinformatics

Grade 7/8:  £33,943 - £38,183/£41,709 - £48,327 per annum

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to join the vibrant and dynamic team of Prof. Lee Cronin (Complex Chemical Systems Group – www.croninlab.com). The researcher will be working in the area of chemical informatics developing work flows to analyses mass spec data from our chemical robotics systems exploring novel artificial living systems.

Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in high resolution mass spectrometry, chemometrics, bio-informatics, programming, and scripting. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.

You will have a degree PhD in either Chemistry or Analytical Sciences / Bioinformatics with experience of mass spectrometry. For appointment at grade 8 some post doctorial experience in multiple areas as listed above, or at the interdisciplinary interface and / or some expertise in running a team would be required
