The main focus of the Pule group is the genetic engineering of T-cells for therapeutic application. This purpose of this position is to assist with and lead on some aspects of ongoing and new translational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy projects. The project will involve protein engineering to develop CAR constructs for novel targets.

Duties and responsibilities for this post include but are not limited to molecular cloning of required constructs, viral vector generation and purification, staining and performing multiparametric flow cytometry, tissue processing, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry skills. The post is funded by European Commission FP7 for one year in the first instance.

The successful applicant should have robust experience of transduction of T-cells (with chimeric antigen receptors/other) and of assessing/quantitating T cell function.
