More than just a job - working for Bath Spa University is a chance for you to discover, learn, and grow. You’ll be working across the Institute for Education - a place where students, academics, Bath Spa teachers, classroom teachers, education practitioners, and all who are interested in education come together in a community of research and practice.

About the role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual who will promote, support, co-develop, and champion the implementation of the Institute of Education’s new digital education strategy (forthcoming), in ways that will significantly enhance the student learning experience. In this role, you’ll provide support to academic staff using technology to enhance learning, teaching, and assessment, through blended and distance learning approaches. This will involve providing training, support, and practical assistance in the use of digital technologies. You’ll have a role in supporting the development of new modules and courses within the Institute and you’ll be able to influence developments across the University. Innovation and exploration of new technologies (including the educational use of robots) is an integral part of this role.

As this is an academic post, a percentage of your time will be devoted to teaching at UG and PG levels, as well as engaging in research and scholarly activity. We’ll also support you in maintaining a strong research and publication profile, enable you to build internal and external networks, and require you to seek access to external funding.

About you

With a contemporary and thorough understanding of the literature and sector developments relating to digital literacies, graduate attributes, and technology-enhanced learning, you’ll also have a solid grounding in developing and delivering all aspects of a staff development programme, including face-to-face and online support. You’ll have a PhD and an awareness of the opportunities and debates in UK higher education concerning digital literacies and technology-enhanced learning. For this position, we need you to be a flexible team player, open to new ideas, and interested in new challenges. You’ll be someone who shares our values and commitment to social justice and student-centred teaching and learning.
