UCFB Wembley is situated inside and around the immediate vicinity of the iconic Wembley Stadium, London including teaching facilities that overlook the famous turf.

UCFB Etihad Campus is our state-of-the-art campus devoted to the football business and related industries. Based in and around the Etihad Stadium, the campus allows is in the heart of one of Europe’s most progressive football facilities.

These premier locations provide UCFB students with a unique student experience to live, learn and work within the football and sports industry during their studies.

The Role

To work with students and staff to develop and promote a positive a high standard of information, advice, advocacy and representation to meet the needs of all UCFB students. To engage with students through academic and non-academic means to provide welfare and information guidance support.

Key Tasks:

The post holder will

  1. To be alert to general student support issues, providing pastoral care, referring cases to the Head of Student Services upon escalation of concern
  2. To proactively encourage students to develop themselves by being a positive and visible influence around the campus
  3. To ensure the provision of advice and information to service users by responding to individual enquiries and managing ongoing casework
  4. To provide a professional, efficient and welcoming front-of-house service to current and potential students, guests and visitors
  5. Using initiative and exceptional communication skills when working front-of-house, as service users will be from a diverse range of backgrounds and experience levels
  6. To deal with a wide variety of enquiries, both in person, online and on the telephone
  7. To provide support, advocacy and representation for students at informal and formal meetings, appeal hearings and tribunals, both within UCFB and with statutory organisations: e.g. Housing Benefit reviews, academic review/appeal hearings, UCFB disciplinary hearings
  8. Advice and information regarding all aspects of student visas to students and applicants on a one-to-one basis, for example Tier 4 applications and renewals
  9. To represent UCFB and its students to external organisations both nationally (UKCISA, British Council, the UK Borders Agency, Association of International Student Advisers and funding bodies) and locally (the police, local Council and community groups), providing ethical advice-giving whilst considering Home Office compliance requirements
  10. To develop and maintain effective relationships with a range of colleagues and agencies internally and externally, e.g. UKVI, UKCISA, AISA

Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 - 5pm but may require flexibility to support students at peak times.
