Post-Doctoral Research Assistant

A funded research position is available working in the area of visual computing to work with Professor Maryann Hardy from the Faculty of Health Studies and Professor Hassan Ugail from Engineering and Informatics at the University of Bradford. The project is focused on generating web based self-resembling avatars to support a programme of weight loss within the healthcare environment. You will be proficient in computer programming (e.g. C++ or C#), the use of image processing tools (such as Matlab), 3D modelling (e.g. using Maya), and prototype software development and testing. Experience of working in a research and development environment, as well as experience of web based development and deployment of services, is desirable. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. The position is available immediately. You will also have excellent people skills and be able to collaborate with/teach other group members to perform development and testing across the scope of the project. In addition to a high level of practical skills you will be able to operate and maintain equipment, operate software relevant to your work, and train others in doing so.
