Please be advised that due to a new minimum salary threshold of £30,000 per annum imposed by the UKVI, this post may not qualify for University sponsorship under Tier 2 of the points based system.

You will join the corneal epithelial stem cell group working on the ex vivo expansion and transplantation of limbal and oral mucosa epithelial stem cells for transplantation into patients with limbal stem cell deficiency.  You will work on identification of cell surface markers for limbal stem cells and their validation using flow cytometric and immunocytochemical assays.  Your responsibilities will include liaison with the project PI and team members and collaborators and overall coordination of the project activities to ensure timely delivery of the project goals.

You will possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a science, medicine or health-related subject and a PhD in a relevant subject area.  You will also have postdoctoral experience in relevant research fields e.g. corneal biology, epithelial stem cell culture and differentiation.  A scientific background on epithelial stem cell culture and their characterisation will be essential.

You will have high level laboratory skills and be able to analyse and interpret data.  You will also have strong critical thinking skills and be quick to learn new skills.

Tenable from 15 September 2017 for nine months.
