Ancillary Animal Technician

We are seeking an enthusiastic technician to join our team in this central University research facility, presenting an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to fulfil their potential.

Duties include general upkeep of the facility and its high hygiene and welfare standards. This will require the operation of specialist cleaning and disposal equipment, maintenance of stock, logging of routine data and other activities to support the team.

Duties will also include day to day, ethical care and welfare of small animals housed in the facility, this will consist of: Cleaning, feeding, watering, weaning, health checks and treatments.

You must explain, in your application, how you meet the following criteria:

  • The ability to prepare and carry out straightforward but specialist technical procedures in a laboratory environment, following clear guidelines and procedures.
  • Good general education to equivalent of CGCEs, NVQ2, City and Guilds.
  • Sufficient knowledge of how to maintain laboratory hygiene standards and related equipment.
  • The ability to promptly report changes of environmental data to the Technical Manager.
