The post holder will be a member of the Professional Services team led by the Programme Managers and managed by the Departmental Manager. The Professional Services team is responsible for the delivery of a high quality service and an excellent student expe rience for the Department’s taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The Department of Political Science is currently planning to start a new undergraduate degree in 2019, so this is a great time to join the team.

The post holder will be expected to undertake a number of duties including, providing support across the full range of postgraduate programmes offered by the Department, day-to-day teaching administration, responsibility for developing and implementing a strategy for alumni relations, managing the postgraduate careers programme, oversight of content for all postgraduate teaching/student related pages on the Department’s main website and intranets, ensuring that information is presented consistently and is kept up-to-date in a timely fashion. The role is also responsible for managing the dissertation process for postgraduate students, and for the MA and MSc Steering Committees, including liaison with Committee Chairs, preparing agendas, minutes and actions, and reporting upwards to the Departmental Teaching Committee.

This is an exciting and challenging time to be involved in the administration of learning and teaching at UCL. This post would provide an opportunity for a pro-active individual interested in developing a career in education administration.

The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of A level standard or equivalent, (GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above) have evidence of excellent administrative skills and a highly proactive approach to providing a comprehensive support service. They will have excellent time management skills and an ability to manage complex work with a good eye for detail. They will have a demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and to develop effective working relationships.
