About the role

As a Senior Business Interaction Manager you will manage BBSRC’s relationship with businesses in the livestock sector, connecting to and developing relationships to learn how it can take advantage of cutting edge research. You will also lead the development of activities to ensure the sector can benefit from our investments in the UK’s world leading bioscience research.

Within this role you will be responsible for BBSRC engagement with the livestock industry and ensure our engagement strategy reflects current sector challenges through consultation with businesses, colleagues across BBSRC and a wide range of other stakeholders. You will also ensure that BBSRC collaborative activities and investments with the sector are effective in meeting their objectives. You will review progress and outputs from programmes and provide strategic oversight to their delivery

This role is maternity cover for the period of 12 months and so will require you to take responsibility for a number of existing activities alongside the opportunity to develop new areas of work.

About you

You will have an understanding of biological sciences, an appreciation of the potential impact of scientific discoveries and an understanding of routes to knowledge exchange or commercialisation. Quick to learn and flexible enough to manage and prioritise a broad range of activities, you will also be able to analyse and present complex information, work to deadlines and build excellent relationships inside and outside the organisation.

You will have a Masters Degree or PhD in a biological or related subject and/or previous relevant experience.
