The Estates Department have a vacancy for a highly skilled Administrator to support the management, development and maintenance of LSTM and its subsidiary companies.

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

The Estates team is a core function of the faculty of Strategic Operations, offering a wide range of services to support the management, development and maintenance of LSTM and its subsidiaries companies.

As a result of recent changes, we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Administrator to support the team. This key post will be responsible for the planning, coordination and completion of administrative arrangements, including the line management of administrative staff, whilst providing direct administrative support to the Head of Estates.

You will ensure the helpdesk is managed effectively, whilst develop and maintain an approved contractor database. You will manage other confidential records, information and service contracts such as safety/inspection certificates to ensure statutory compliance across the estate, plant and equipment.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), with proven experience in providing high quality administration support in a similar role, preferably in the HE sector Facilities/Estates. You will have previously taken minutes of meetings at strategic level and have prior line management experience.

Possessing good interpersonal skills, you will be able to communicate with people in a multicultural customer orientated environment. You will be expected to manage multiple diaries; therefore, you will be adaptable and able to respond to unexpected needs within a fast-changing environment.

This role will also require experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel and the ability to create and manage databases. Although not essential, the use of facilities management software such as Archibus or similar would be advantageous.
