Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Assistant within the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach department (UAO). This post is a permanent position.

This is a responsible position which offers the opportunity to be involved at the centre of UAO. The Administrative Assistant will support the Administrative Manager in running the central administrative support office as well as provide effective administrative support to the Communications and Student Recruitment teams within UAO.

Duties will include dealing with a wide range of matters, sometimes highly confidential and/or urgent; handling correspondence; managing electronic diaries; making arrangements for meetings, visits and travel and the processing of financial and personnel documents.

The Administrative Assistant will be an experienced individual, able to handle information of a sensitive and sometimes confidential nature. The postholder must be flexible, committed and an excellent communicator in order to support the different teams effectively. It is also essential that the postholder exercises good judgement and has an accurate and methodical approach to tasks. This is a challenging and exciting role.

This post is part of a pilot scheme testing a new Supporting Evidence form in place of the more usual ‘supporting statement’.
