The Foundation for International Education (FIE) is an international educational organisation working in partnership with universities and colleges in the US to provide immersive study abroad programs for undergraduate students in London, Dublin, and Amman.

FIE is currently seeking qualified, enthusiastic and competent applicants for the following full-time, permanent position within the Academic and Experiential Education department.

Preferred Start Date: beginning of October or earlier

Job Summary: The Teaching and Learning Development Officer will be responsible for proactively developing and supporting the academic provision, with a view to ensuring high quality teaching and learning experiences.  Some of the primary responsibilities include:

  • Playing a key role in the quality assurance of FIE’s provision
  • Aiding the development and implementation of academic procedures
  • Coordinating and supporting the delivery of courses, as well as the planning and management of events
  • Coordinating the recruitment of FIE faculty
  • Responding to student and faculty queries regarding academics

Required skills & qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree
  • Administrative experience in education environments
  • Ability to lend creative and innovative solutions to problems
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of faculty, as well as cross-departmentally
  • Ability to work independently, to deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent research, writing, IT, verbal communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A positive attitude

Desired skills & experience

  • A relevant postgraduate degree
  • Experience with US or UK higher education environments, preferably within the study abroad sector
  • Experience in human resources, quality assurance procedures and/or curriculum and course development
  • Experience overseeing faculty and courses
