About the role

Regent’s University London is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Communications and PR Manager to raise the profile of the University and safeguard its reputation both internally and externally.

Joining the newly formed Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions team, the Communications and PR Manager will be responsible for contributing to and implementing the University’s strategy for effective communications and PR. This will encompass internal and external communications as well as public relations.

Under a dual management structure, you will work collaboratively with the Digital Communications Manager to oversee the Communications Office and actively contribute to and manage the day-to-day business of the team, working with colleagues across the University and within Marketing, Brand & Communications.

You will be responsible for overseeing all public relations activities, including liaising with journalists, our external PR agency and also acting as spokesperson for the University. You will lead on internal communications as well as external communications activities and campaigns.

Ideally you will have experience working within higher education or a similar environment.

You will be responsible for updating and delivering the Public Relations Strategy and Crisis Communications Strategy, ensuring these align with the other marketing and recruitment strategies and support the University’s Strategic Plan. You will ensure that appropriate communication channels are used to best engage students, staff and external audiences. The role will be pivotal in advising on, and implementation of, actions in any major incidents, events or crises in a calm and confidential manner.
