The University of Bradford is an ambitious world-leading technology university with an exciting portfolio of nursing and healthcare leadership provision. 

Following staff retirement, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic academic to join a dedicated and innovative team. 

The School of Nursing and School of Service Development and Improvement have developed a strong portfolio of education provision at pre and post registration, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for nurses, healthcare professionals and related healthcare workers. The Schools are seeking an experienced academic with a track record of programme development, delivery and evaluation and research activity to contribute to all provision with a specific focus around equality and diversity.  You will demonstrate enthusiasm for your speciality and a willingness to be innovative and creative while making use of development opportunities to improve self and the Schools. In addition to teaching and learning responsibilities, you will be expected to lead on research activity in your specialism related to the research clusters of the faculty, seeking grants and delivering on research targets. 

School commitments to student recruitment, programme/module leadership and the role of personal academic tutor are included in the role. Additionally you will be expected to maintain excellent levels of knowledge in your specialist area, maintaining or working towards gaining local/regional recognition as an expert in this field. You will have a passion for our widening participation agenda to enable all students to achieve their potential. 

Faculty research activity is locally and internationally significant, undertaken in collaboration with NHS and other partners. Our vibrant research community is housed in the Faculty research clusters. The clusters provide a focus for strategic development and a direction for grant applications and publications.  They are led by world-leading professors including Professor Udy Archibong, (Inclusion and Diversity), Professor Murna Downs (Dementia), Professor Mohammed Mohammed (Quality and Patient Safety) and Professor Alan Kellehear (Public Health).  Multi-disciplinary teams of professors, academics and PGR students are working together on exciting research projects in the following clusters:

  • Equality and diversity
  • Living with dementia
  • Management, quality and safety
  • End of life care
  • Health inequalities
  • Digital Health
