Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) Administrator

UCL Innovation and Enterprise is responsible for the management and distribution of a significant amount of funding allocated by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) under its Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) stream. We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to support the department’s Knowledge Exchange (KE) Manager in the effective administration of this account.

Principal responsibilities will include planning, coordinating and administering the IAA allocation, responding to demand and to changing strategic priorities. The funding allocation is managed through the running of internal calls and a peer review process. Therefore, this role entails communicating calls to the UCL community; answering queries; collating applications; checking costs; organising panel reviews; collating scores; presenting outcomes of reviews to the funding panel; assisting the KE Manager as secretary to the funding panel; and notifying applicants and finance teams of outcomes.

The post also involves assisting with the financial control of the IAA budget, and with the monitoring and reporting of Knowledge Exchange activities in order to meet the requirements of the external funder.

This post is funded primarily by the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account; this funding is currently due to end on 31st March 2020 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, knowledge and understanding of the research environment in a Higher Education Institution and an understanding of the importance of research impact. Other essential requirements include an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, to convey sometimes important and complex information to a range of audiences; a high level of numeracy; a keen attention to detail; strong IT skills; an ability to work both independently and as part of a team; strong organisational and planning skills and an ability to analyse problems and identify solutions.
