Institution Support IT Technician

The University Information Services (UIS) is seeking an Institution Support IT Technician to assist with the provision of contracted IT support to departments, colleges and other organisations within the University as part of the UIS's Institution Support Service.

The role holder is expected to be educated to A-level or equivalent, and to be computer literate and numerate with experience in providing IT support within small to medium size organisations and of working in a team.  The role holder will have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems as well as some knowledge of other operating systems e.g. Mac OS X and Linux. The role-holder will be familiar with networking and a variety of hardware, as well as having excellent problem-analysis and solving skills, good interpersonal skills and a general practical hands-on aptitude.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
