Research Laboratory Technician (BMRC)

This technical post supports our busy and diverse research laboratories in the School of Biological Sciences and its Bio-Medical Research Centre. You will be  involved in general housekeeping and providing services to underpin the research programmes and postgraduate student projects.  You will also provide an essential core service support that has key health and safety duties all of which are associated with legal compliance such as fume cupboard monitoring, testing and safe waste chemical disposal.

You must have 3 passes at GCE A-level (grade A-E) and GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science or equivalent qualifications. You should have proven experience of working in a laboratory environment in a support role and must possess a good understanding of laboratory safety issues and good laboratory practice. In addition, you should be able to satisfy all the essential criteria detailed in the person specification for this post.
This post is available from 1 October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter on a full-time, indefinite basis.
 
The University is a Bronze Athena Swan Award holder, currently working towards Silver.
