Research Fellow - Centre for Movement, Occupational and Rehabilitation Sciences

This is a full time, fixed term appointmnet for two years within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

You will be responsible for:

  • implementation and day-to-day running of research projects aligned to the research themes in the Centre
  • leading major research projects and/or teams
  • develop established, or initiate and develop novel research National/International collaborations to generate multi/interdisciplinary research outputs
  • planning and carrying out clinical trials and managing governance and ethics, keeping accurate records, data analysis & interpretation and report writing
  • mentoring/coaching and supervision of junior research staff, undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters and PhD) project/dissertation students and visiting researchers
  • financial management and monitoring of project spend (e.g. consumables/travel), liaison with collaborators and monitoring progress towards objectives/targets, where appropriate.

You should have:

  • a good honours degree in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, sport and exercise science, biomechanics, movement science, human biology, physiology or related area. A higher degree (PhD) in a related area.
  • experience writing research papers, journal articles and materials for publication
  • experience of managing clinical trials and ICH GCP
  • an understanding of clinical trial processes and needs
  • excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • the ability to quickly build effective relationships with team members and wider stakeholders
  • the ability to participate in, motivate and develop teams.
