Credit Controller

University of Northampton

Location Park Campus

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced credit controller to lead and shape the University’s credit control function. The purpose of the role is to provide a credit control service encompassing both student academic and accommodation debt collection, and external academic partnership and other commercial customer collections. Using the existing technology available, the post holder will be required to improve existing processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of credit collections.

The postholder will be accountable to the Deputy Director of Finance, working closely with the Head of Income, whilst maintaining strong relationships with other University academic and administrative staff, and external debtors. For student debts, the role requires the post-holder to balance robust debt collection procedures whilst providing general financial advice and support to students where required and appropriate.

Alongside student debt collection, the University has a range of academic and other commercial customers, nationally and internationally, both within and outside the field of education, to which full commercial credit control practices and disciplines apply.

This is an exciting time to join our University as we prepare to relocate in September 2018 to a new purpose-built, town-centre campus designed to adapt to 21st century teaching and the ABL model.

We are looking to recruit individuals who share our passion for innovation, creativity and social impact and who will play a key role as we realise our ambition of transforming lives for the better and inspiring positive change.

The University of Northampton is one of only two Ashoka U Changemaker Campuses inthe UK, and in 2017 was awarded the Social Enterprise Gold Mark, an independent guarantee that we have proven to our employees, students and stakeholders that we are committed to continuous improvement across our business in order to consistently deliver a positive impact on people and planet.

All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview. Due to the requirements laid out by UK Visas and Immigration regarding Right to Work in the UK, the University can only accept applications from individuals who currently have a status allowing them to work in the UK for this position. Due to this criteria we regret that we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.

The University of Northampton as an employer strives to achieve diversity among its staff which reflects the communities it serves.
