The College of Liberal Arts is an exciting new development at Bath Spa University, bringing together 3 of our traditional schools into a new structure enabling the extensive collaboration and the sharing of knowledge across a multitude of disciplines.

About the role

This role is for someone to demonstrate scenic and props making skills to our students, assist with teaching and show builds and to manage our Scenic Construction Centre, order stock and monitor health and safety.

Though most of the work is theatrical, there will some some construction for events, music and television. There will also be supervision of Get-Ins and Get-Outs with an occasional need to drive the College van. Though most of the time will be spent at our Scenic Construction Centre, travel to various sites and working on site specific events will be involved in the role.

This role will work in supporting the wider team of Technicians, Technical Demonstrators, and Academic staff, as well as working directly with students to support and enhance the student experience.

About you (requirements)

You will have a First Degree or equivalent experience, considerable experience in industry and working in a workshop environment. You will have knowledge of teaching or training, preferably with experience working in a teaching institution.

A teaching qualification is desirable and you will be keen to engage with further development of your skills and training.

You will be a free thinking team player with a friendly customer facing persona, flexible work attitude and a full driving licence.
