Demonstrator

Keele University wishes to engage a number of Demonstrators on casual contracts in order to support the delivery of Computer Science teaching modules in the School of Computing and Mathematics.

You will work in the Computing Division led by Professor Peter Andras within the School of Computing and Mathematics at Keele University and will report to the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Programmes, Dr Thomas Neligwa, who will assign the modules for demonstration.

Areas of interest include: programming in Java and C++, algorithms and data structures, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, human – computer interactions, virtual reality, databases, graphics programming, computer games programming, software engineering, requirements engineering, system analysis and design, information systems, operating systems, machine learning, evolutionary systems, web technologies and programming, mobile programming environments, e-commerce and other areas in computer science.

You will be expected to contribute to or run practicals, tutorials and workshops. Normally the materials for practicals, tutorials, workshops will be provided, but you may also be asked to contribute to the development or updating of these as well.

You should have at least an undergraduate degree in a science or engineering or related field. If your degree is not in Computer Science or closely related field, you should have significant experience in applying areas of computer science in your current or recent work. Experience of teaching computer science or a related subject in a university setting is desirable. An MSc or PhD in a field of science or engineering is also desirable.
