Wellbeing Practitioner (Counselling) – 0.4FTE

Leeds Beckett University - Student Services

Student Wellbeing Team

As a large and dynamic university with a diverse student profile, we are committed to ensuring that our students can access and inform a range of high quality, integrated services which enhance the overall quality of their student experience and enable them to achieve their full potential.

Following a review of academic structures, and subsequent review of our Student Services, we are seeking to appoint a Wellbeing Practitioner to join our busy team on a term time only basis. Working with colleagues from counselling, mental health and chaplaincy backgrounds, you will offer a range of short-term interventions, including counselling (4 sessions) and one-off ‘wellbeing appointments’ for students within a holistic service delivery model. The successful applicant will have a recognised qualification and professional accreditation in mental health, counselling or psychotherapy, and have experience of working with people with a range of mental health difficulties. Successful applicants will have experience of dealing with urgent situations and knowledge of referral agencies and pathways, as well as the ways in which mental health difficulties can affect a student's wellbeing and experience. You will also have a good understanding of the concerns of students, as well as of current issues in higher education.
