Overview Of Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an Executive Director to help build a strategy to ensure that the Lawes Agricultural Trust (LAT) assets are protected, maintained and utilised to the benefit of all whilst meeting charitable objectives.  The successful candidate will act as the Trust and Company Secretary to the LAT meetings ensuring compliance with Charity and Company law. You will oversee and actively engage with the property management for all the Lawes Agricultural Trust (LAT) residential and commercial properties liaising with Rothamsted stakeholders, departments and key external bodies.

To be successful in this role you will be able to build strategy whilst at the same time perform a hands on role if necessary and oversee the property management of the extensive property portfolio belonging to the trust.  A good knowledge of company and charity law is essential to ensure compliance with legislation and provide advice and guidance to the Board of the trust.  Financial awareness is  essential to enable effective liaison with the Finance department.   The ability to successfully influence key stakeholders will also be an important part of this role along with the ability to communicate to statutory bodies, local government and the local community.  Qualifications in a company secretarial function, legal, financial or property management field would be highly desirable.

This role is available on a part time basis 9.30am - 1.30pm 5 days a week and is offered initially on a 3 year fixed-term.  A salary dependent on experience will be paid on a pro-rata basis. The vacancy has a closing date of 31 August 2017.
