The Centre for Clinical Cardiovascular Engineering is at the forefront of translating engineering tools into clinical practice. This post will be funded by the British Heart Foudation (BHF) and the project aims at exploiting 3D printing technology in the management of congenital heart disease in particular how models replicating patients' conditions could improve decision-making and shorten procedure times, could serve as training tools for cardiologists and surgeons, could improve communication with patients and their families and empower young people with additional knowledge about their condition.

The post is funded until 31 May 2020 in the first instance.

Candidates will be MBBS/BSc in Medicine or equivalent, have GMC registration and experience in clinical research, especially in congenital heart disease. They will demonstrate the ability to develop productive collaborative working relationships and to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research team.

Experience in image processing is essential. Knowledge of patient specific cardiovascular modelling, image post-processing software and 3D printing for medical application is desirable.
