School Manager

The School of Modern Languages requires a School Manager to proactively manage and coordinate the delivery of the support services which underpin research and teaching within the School.

The role holder will play a pivotal role in the business transformation programme that the School is currently undertaking to deliver new and enhanced services, processes, structures, information and technology to support its research and teaching.

The role holder will work closely with the School’s senior office holders, providing support and advice, and as a member of the School’s management groups will make a significant contribution to the School’s strategic and operational (including financial) planning. The role holder will also play a leading role in School communications and in developing strategic alliances and networks on behalf of the School, both within the University and external to the University. 

The role holder will have line management responsibility for the School’s administration and IT team.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and should have extensive experience of working within higher education and of managing diverse teams within a large and complex organisation.
