Research Assistant/Programme Officer

CONVOCO

Part time (Mon-Thur)
Start date 1 December 2017

The German/English think tank Convoco deals with socio-political research and encourages interdisciplinary exchange between the private sector and the arts and sciences. The idea is to bring academics together with leaders of the economy, politics, law, and culture. For this purpose, Convoco offers different platforms: lectures in Berlin and London and an annual two-day conference in Salzburg—the Convoco Forum—as well as a website, a newsletter, and an annual book publication in German and English. www.convoco.co.uk

The applicant should have experience of academic work (research on Convoco’s yearly changing topics), as well as strong organizational talent (preparation and organization of lectures and conferences, guest management). A large part of the correspondence and research will be in German, it is therefore essential that you have native-speaker-level written and spoken German and excellent English language skills.

This position would ideally suit a candidate who has obtained their MA and has experience in organizing workshops and conferences. Strong communication skills are essential. Knowledge of Drupal (CMS) and basic image/video editing skills are desirable. We are looking for somebody with an engaging nature, a strong interest in questions surrounding politics, economics, law, and society, a quick mind and strong analytical and computer skills.

Should you be interested, please send a CV and a short German covering letter (no more than one page) by 30/09/2017 to office@convoco.co.uk.

Should you have further questions please contact: Tina Bartels (Tel: +44 20 7591 2749, email: office@convoco.co.uk).
