Research Assistant - Decision Making

University College London - UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), UCL as apart of the Decision Making Group, under the supervision of Dr Benedetto De Martino. The Decision-Making Group at the ICN researches the neural computations underpinning the decisions making process across a broad range of domains such as perceptual, economic and social choice. We approach this question by combing computational modelling with experimental economics, psychophysics and brain imaging methods including functional and structural MRI, TMS, M/EEG and eye tracking. The post holder will assist with acquiring and analysing behavioural and neuroimaging data from human subjects undergoing a range of tests to study aspects of decision-making function. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the interface of computational and cognitive neuroscience research into decision making.

The post is available immediately and is funding by a grant from the Wellcome Trust for 1 year in the first instance.

Applicants should have an Honours Degree (minimum 2:1) in experimental psychology, neuroscience, engineering or computer science and prior experience working with human participants in an experimental or clinical setting. Proficiency in programming in one or more of Python, Matlab, R and/or JavaScript is essential, as is the ability to perform statistical and data visualisation. A broad knowledge of other scientific programming languages, experience with collecting data online (eg via Mechanical Turk), knowledge of cognitive neuroscience technologies such as MRI, M/EEG, TMS and eye tracking and a relevant Masters qualification is desirable.

Applicants should apply online. To access further details about the position and how to apply please click on the ‘Apply’ button below.
