Associate Professor in Public Law and Human Rights (Grade 9)

The role:

Working with small groups to deliver seminars and tutorials on modules such as ‘UK Constitutional Law’ and ‘The Individual and the State’, you will be a key member of The Human Rights Centre. You will also guide the students’ research projects and undertake your own academic studies, supported by research leave and an individual allowance.

You’ll need:

  • A good first degree with a PhD in Law or a related subject.
  • Exceptional knowledge of Public Law and Human Rights issues, with a passion for conveying this knowledge to your students.
  • Outstanding teaching skills, with membership of the HEA, or working towards attaining this.
  • The creativity to adapt your teaching to different sized groups, with the ability to use technology and other techniques.
  • Evidence of world-class research outputs, with the ability to secure funding and a comprehensive research plan.
  • Previous experience of supervising PhD students, with the confidence to lead research groups and early career researchers.
  • Solid communication skills, plus the ability to lead colleagues and contribute to the development of the law school as a whole.
