The Ophthalmic Epidemiology and Biostatistics (‘Eyes and Vision’) group in the Lifecourse Epidemiology and Biostatistics Section is looking for a Research Associate to join its programme of research developing and implementing Child Vision Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

The post-holder will take forward a study investigating optimal approaches to routine use of PROMs in clinical practice and will undertake all the primary research activities including recruiting children and young people, co-ordinating their completion of PROMs and interviewing them to understand their perspectives on routine use within their clinical care and undertaking quantitative analysis of the findings. The post holder will also work with clinicians to understand the factors relevant to successful integration of PROMs into routine clinical practice and their training needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and, as part of a team, contributing to publications and to presenting the results at study meetings, and at national or international scientific meetings, as appropriate.

This post is funded for 18 months in the first instance.

Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant discipline eg epidemiology or health services research and some relevant research experience. It is essential that candidates have a strong working knowledge of relevant research methods and strong statistical analytic skills.
