Norwich Business School is home to a vibrant and engaged academic community, ranked amongst the top 10 UK business schools by the quality of its research output (REF 2014) and intent on providing teaching excellence across its wide range of business degree programmes including specialist accounting, finance and management courses. 

The School is seeking to recruit an outstanding academic in the field of Finance. Applications would be particularly welcome from candidates with teaching, research or scholarship expertise in corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, or financial services including banking and insurance.

The successful applicant will join the School’s Finance Group that aims to produce high-impact world-class research and scholarship. Group members are recognised internationally for their contribution to advancing finance theory and practice as reflected by their publications in leading journals and their funding success.  Group members also engage with the finance profession, including working closely with the Norwich Financial Industry Group (FIG), a public/private partnership that promotes and develops the banking, insurance and finance sectors in Norwich and Norfolk. 

The post is available on either ‘Academic, Teaching & Research’ (ATR), or ‘Academic Teaching & Scholarship’ (ATS) terms and conditions. ATR staff are required to promote the study of their subject though teaching and research.  ATS staff are expected to provide a leadership contribution to teaching and administration while maintaining subject scholarship but without the requirement to conduct research.  

For ATR staff, senior lecturers must have a PhD or equivalent qualification and lecturers must have a PhD or equivalent qualification or be near to completion with submission and award within one year of commencement.  For ATS staff, a good first degree or an equivalent qualification is essential; and PhD (or nearing completion), or equivalent experience (which could mean substantial experience at a high level in industry, and/or equivalent professional qualification). Applicants must satisfy all the essential criteria detailed in the person specification.  

The post is available from 1 December 2017 on a full-time indefinite basis.

The University is a Bronze Athena Swan Award holder, currently working towards Silver.
