Research Technician

UCL Institute of Neurology - Department of Molecular Neuroscience

Applications are invited for a Research Technician based in the Department of Molecular Neuroscience, UCL Institute of Neurology as part of the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre (LWENC).

This is a post with unique responsibility for a biobank specialising in samples collected at the NHNN hospital. The post holder will also be responsible for a range of processing and database tasks and also assist in the daily running of the Wolfson CSF Biomarkers Lab (LWBL). The post holder will also be an active member of the LWBL and play an active role in the group, reporting to group on biobank stats and advising potential biobank users.

Applicants should have the ability to use basic lab equipment, such as centrifuge and pipette and general laboratory competence. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to maintain accurate and up to date records, and a self-motivated and methodical approach. A BSc in a Biomedical subject or equivalent experience is desirable, as is experience in a molecular biology laboratory and experience with databases.

The post is available immediately and is funded from the Wolfson Foundation until 31 March, 2019.   Stating salary on UCL Grade 6 in the range £28,014 to £32,830 per annum (including London Allowance).
