The University of London is unlike many other universities.  It consists of 18 independent member institutions with outstanding global reputations and several prestigious central academic bodies and activities.  The University of London’s new Development Office, part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, is responsible for nurturing relationships with our diverse constituencies, including alumni, friends, former staff, prospects, donors, organisations and trusts and foundations, with a view to cultivating their support for the University, our Institutes and departments. At the heart of this initiative is our database.

About the role
The University of London has the largest known alumni database of any University in the UK.  The new role of Database Assistant will maintain and develop the University’s Blackbaud CRM database (‘Senator’) in support of the Development Office’s strategic aims.  This position will play a key role in updating Senator as part of a programme of data cleaning and de-duplication, including biographical, educational, financial and address data in accordance with data protection legislation.

About you
We are interested in meeting candidates with a proven interest in data management and higher education or charity sector fundraising, coupled with previous experience in high-volume, manual data entry.  Technically adept, you will bring a methodical approach to data and database management, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to collect and assess information rapidly.  Sound communication skills evidenced by the ability to understand and communicate in a variety of ways to both technical and non-technical audiences will round off your profile.
