The School of Law, Criminal Justice and Computing combine high quality teaching with the latest cutting-edge research. Our diverse team includes experts from fields of law, policing, criminology, forensics and computing – all of whom are passionate about their subject and sharing their knowledge with others.

The Role

You will join a well-established Law Team with a clear commitment to student experience and developing our students’ employability opportunities. We have a growing undergraduate portfolio and are rapidly expanding our postgraduate activity particularly at PhD level. We are looking to appoint at Senior Lecturer grade to support this process. At Senior Lecturer the person appointed will support our developing PhD in Law cohort. As a minimum, candidates will need to be eligible for ‘approved’ status under our University regulations. Preferably, candidates will satisfy our University requirements for ‘experienced’ status. The ability to make a contribution to teaching and management of: Equity and Trusts; Corporate Law; Family Law; Property Law or Jurisprudence will be an advantage. The post holder will be based at the University’s Canterbury campus.


The most suitable candidate will need to satisfy our University's criteria as an 'experienced supervisor'. This requires successful PhD Supervision to Completion and a significant track record of publications. As a minimum, we would welcome applications from those eligible for ‘approved supervisor’ status. This requires a track record of publications and a completed (or very near to) PhD.
