Senior Technician (Mechanical Engineering)

The senior technician will have a mechanical, manufacturing engineering or closely related engineering background with experience in mechanical or structural and materials testing. You will supervise and oversee the smooth running of the engineering workshops in the mechanical, civil and structural engineering area, providing technical support and maintaining health and safety procedures.     

You will be educated to degree level in mechanical or structural engineering and/or have equivalent practicing experience. You will be highly organised and self-motivated, with experience of managing staff and /or delegating work tasks and have a genuine interest in the subject areas. With working experience of various scale, mechanical engineering testing equipment including university testing machines, laser cutters and CNC machines as well as digital data logging systems. You will be ambitious with a hands-on approach to technical problems and possess good leadership skills.
