GeCIP Team Lead

Genomics England

Genomics England are looking for an experienced professional to lead on the development and execution of a framework for research within the 100,000 Genomes Project, conceive and enact the necessary governance, and to assist in the development of the tools and resources to allow researchers to fulfill their research ambitions.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • GeCIP Strategy - lead on the strategic development of GeCIP. Translate the strategy into operational approaches and ensure delivery.  This will include being able to move easily from strategy to hands- on delivery. 
  • Research Embassy Development - be the user/customer representative in a multidisciplinary team of individuals developing a multimillion pound research environment
  • Policy Development and Execution - lead on the drafting and enactment of policies and terms of references to establish the research framework for the 100,000 Genomes Project
  • Maintain and develop relationships - create effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals from the academic, commercial, charity, and healthcare sectors
  • Commercial engagement - assist the Genomics England Commercial team in developing a model for commercial engagement with GeCIP. This aspect of the role is expected to grow.
  • Line manage a small team of GeCIP Coordinators to deliver the GeCIP Programme.
  • Management Information - process raw data to produce management information suitable for presentation to governing bodies and stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress. Report on the programme’s progress to external boards and committees
