Senior Health Improvement Specialist
Drugs and Alcohol

Cambridgeshire County Council wants to appoint an experienced Public Health Improvement Specialist to lead the strategic development of Drugs and Alcohol public health interventions and ensure that this is reflected in the commissioning, implementation of programmes and services for prevention and health improvement. The post holder is required to have a comprehensive knowledge of public health evidence that will ensure that the relevant health improvement interventions/services are evidence based, provide value for money and achieve the desired health outcomes. Experience of working in a partnership environment will be an important element of this role as the post holder will be responsible for developing, influencing and sustaining partnerships that support the delivery of the Public Health Directorate objectives and other relevant local strategies.

The post is placed within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Public Health Joint Commissioning Unit (JCU). JCU staff are members of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Public Health Directorate. The post is employed by Cambridgeshire County Council to work across both the Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council areas.
