PA to Director of Institute

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £21,904 to £23,532. With potential progression once in post to £27,242 a year.

The post-holder is required to provide extensive and high level administrative organisational and secretarial support covering the full range of the Director’s activities. This will involve working largely unsupervised on issues that require the exercise of judgement, initiative and confidentiality, and where it will be essential to be proactive in order to meet the tight deadlines that are a feature of the Institute’s environment. The role requires excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing to facilitate the appropriate interaction with a wide range of people, many of whom will be operating at a senior level within the College, wider University and the external environment, including the NHS.

The post-holder will act as Personal Assistant to the Director and provide support for the effective administration of the Institute. The post-holder’s role will involve liaison with the Institute Manager, Senior Administrator, College/University Officers and internal and external agencies. The working relationship between the PA and the Director is of paramount importance to the success of the Institute and its efficient operation.

The post holder forms part of the senior administrative support team within the Institute of Clinical Sciences, with responsibility for ensuring appropriate support for all activities required of the Director of the Institute, and expected to work collaboratively with other post holders across the team and beyond to ensure effective support for core activities.

The post-holder will be involved in gathering and collating information on specific projects to be reviewed by the Director of the Institute and the Institute Manager, developing and managing complex and administrative information systems and proactively ensuring that the work is successfully completed to deadline.
