Fixed Term Position: 1 Year.

A new position is available in the group of Professor Peter Scott to synthesise new polyolefin-based block copolymers, characterise their properties and contribute to the development a process for their production. The work is funded for 12 months by Innovate UK and is in collaboration with Interface Polymers Ltd and University of Loughborough.

You will have completed a PhD or equivalent in Chemistry and have experience in polymer chemistry. A strong theoretical and mechanistic understanding of coordination and radical polymerization is essential. Knowledge and experience of polymer processing is desirable. You will be able to demonstrate strong transferrable skills. If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799).
