In line with Swinburne’s aspirations, the Faculty of Health Arts and Design is developing a range of new courses in health sciences and allied health disciplines. This ongoing position is part of that growth and aims to strengthen the overall research, teaching and industry engagement for exercise and sports science. The recent announcement of Swinburne’s partnership with Richmond Football club is just one example illustrating our ambition to be a leader in this field. We are looking for an inspirational leader in the field who has an international track record for research and industry collaboration. You should align to one or more of the following areas within high performance sport: exercise physiology, sports technology, performance analysis and sports data analytics.  

As our Professor, you will be committed to building two-way teaching and research partnerships in Australia and internationally and enthusiastic about developing the Exercise and Sports Science profile of Swinburne University.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A PhD qualification or equivalent in Exercise and Sports Science or a related discipline.
  • An outstanding national and international reputation as a leader of research and industry engagement in Exercise and Sports Science with a particular focus on high performance sport.
  • A significant track record of external research income through competitive grants and/or industry engagement.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of academics, work within a consultative, team environment in multi-disciplinary contexts, including senior external members of the Faculty, University and relevant professions in industry and government.
