Lecturer in Strategic Management

University of Salford - Salford Business School

This is an exciting time to play a key role in delivering transformation at Salford. The University is pursuing a new strategic plan, emphasising ‘real world’ objectives: education for employment, research for the real world and partnership with business. The University of Salford’s vision is that by pioneering exceptional industry partnerships we will lead the way in real world experiences preparing students for life.

This strategy is based on broad industry engagement led by four industry collaboration zones (Digital and Creative; Sport; Engineering and Environments; Health, Well-being and Society). These zones act as a focus for integrated working across the University and with partners in industry. With a sustained focus on excellence through engagement, we are revamping our approach to employability, enterprise, curriculum development and research: embedding these activities within the new zones to create exceptional experiences for all our stakeholders.

Salford Business School has a community of over 4000 students and around 120 staff. It has AMBA and EFMD’s EPAS accreditations, is pursuing AACSB accreditation, and was Times Higher Education’s Business School of the Year in 2014.The School seeks to be an industry-focused provider of next-generation business, management, finance, accounting and law education and research, developing graduates, managers and leaders prepared for the realities of business and the workplace.

Salford Business School offers undergraduate, postgraduate (MSc and MBA) and research programmes in the general disciplines of accounting, finance, economics; people management, marketing, strategic management; operations, information management and law. Programmes are offered in Salford and internationally, through distance learning and with a growing range of partners.

The School already has a strong industry focused ethos with collaboration with industry, business and professional associations at its core. Business is seen as a key enabler for the University’s industry collaboration zones and the strategy requires that the Business School work with other Schools to develop programmes, research and engagement strategies relevant to a variety of industry sectors. Salford Business School therefore supports the work of all four of these zones, and we would particularly welcome applicants whose interests align with these.
