Research Associate

King's College London - Cardiology

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33,518 per annum, plus £2923,00 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be fixed term contract until 30November 2020

This is a Full-Time – 100% full time equivalent

We are looking for a Research Associate with a good grounding in cardiovascular research and previous experience of relevant techniques, i.e. cell culture and transfection, immunoblotting and IP, RT-PCR and live cell imaging (such as FRET).

The successful candidate will work on a project to study the pathophysiological role of NADPH oxidase-2 (Nox2) in the modulation of cardiac function and associated redox signalling mechanisms by a range of molecular/cell biological techniques and microscopy, and integrative physiology (e.g. Zhang et al JACC 2015;66:261-72).

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant biological sciences project, be self-motivated and able to work independently. The job will be based within the King’s College London BHF Centre of Research Excellence, based at the Denmark Hill Campus. The BHF Centre provides an excellent multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
