Senior Research Associate in Dynamic/Task Based Information Retrieval

Funded by InnovateUK's Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund for the project "Dynamic Information Retrieval for Digital Autonomous Workflow based web search" under the supervision of Prof. Jun Wang (UCL Media Futures Group) and Dr Marc Sloan (Context Scout).

You will be responsible for evaluating task-based information seeking behaviors using different information finding tools. You will research and develop a framework for collecting data on a live information finding prototype, build mathematical models for interpreting the data, and run evaluations measuring the success of the users of the tools.

This post is funded for 14 months in the first instance.

A PhD (or near completion) in information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, or a related area is required. Experience with running user studies and modelling user interactions or online A/B testing is essential. Candidates should also have a strong engineering, data science, and scientific programming background.
