University of Edinburgh

The post-holder will contribute in supporting the research team with maintenance of human pluripotent stem cells (h-iPSC) and generating cerebral organoid cultures from hiPSC. The technician will assist in establishing SOPs and performing rigorous characterisation of h-iPSCs and generated organoid cultures using various molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, karyotyping, western blotting, fluorescence microscopy. This will require the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot. Applicant should have relevant experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Applicant must be able to work efficiently with other members of the research team that includes a laboratory manager and research technician.

This post is fixed term for 2 years and is available for an immediate start. Informal enquires to Prof Siddharthan Chandran (siddharthan.chandran@ed.ac.uk) or Dr Karen Burr, (Karen.burr@ed.ac.uk).
