Engagement Officer

University of Southampton - Alumni Relations

Are you an ambitious, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with the experience, desire, and passion to develop and implement marketing and communications activities to grow an engaged global community of over 200,000 alumni and supporters in over 180 different countries?

Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for the University of Southampton’s external engagement and fundraising programmes. We provide leadership direction for all volunteering and philanthropic giving, raising income from individuals, trusts, foundations, and companies to support the advancement of the University and its 10 year strategy.

We are looking for an Engagement Officer to join our team and deliver a high quality programme of communications and engagement activities to support our aim of growing a global and engaged alumni and supporter community – from developing our social media channels, to working on our alumni magazine, to creating regular hero stories on the impact our alumni have on advancing the University.

You will have a good understanding of the importance of communications and engagement and its role in successful friend-raising and fundraising, as well as a strong understanding of communications and marketing strategies.

You will be a confident, creative, and capable communicator with the ability to prioritise and meet the demands of a busy, diverse environment. You will be motivated to work independently, yet an effective team player who takes a flexible approach to their work.
