Sport Development Officer (Intra-Mural)

Manchester Metropolitan University - MMU Sport

Department

MMU Sport delivers, with partners, the non-academic sporting offer across the university. We are responsible for sports facilities, high performance sports teams including the Sports Scholarship programme, university sports clubs, sport and physical activity participation programmes, coach education and sports volunteering. Recent investment into the department means this is an exciting time to be part of a growing and dynamic team.

Our ambition is to increase engagement in sport and physical activity amongst both staff and students across both campuses, raise standards amongst our university sports clubs and support the development of our students through coaching and volunteering opportunities with our internal and external partners.

Role

The Sport Development Officer will co-ordinate and deliver an expanded Intra-Mural offer for staff and students, focusing on engagement in a semi-competitive sport and physical activity offer between university Faculties, Departments, Halls of Residences or groups of friends.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a sport or physical activity field. You will have previous experience of developing and delivering sport engagement programs in an education setting, ideally Higher Education and will understand the barriers that students and staff face in being physical active and how to overcome these. You will be a self-motivated, highly organised individual who is passionate about getting people more active.
