Lecturer in Nutrition/ Dietetics

FTE: This is a full time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Duration of Contract: 12 months fixed term contract

Main duties & responsibilities

The successful applicant will contribute to the teaching of nutrition and dietetics to BSc students and work as part of module teams to plan and deliver teaching and undertake innovative and varied assessment. They will also contribute to the recruitment and admissions of new students.  Occasional placement visits and contributions to other programmes in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and other areas, e.g. healthcare and science programmes, may be required.  Other activities may include contributing to nutrition and dietetics curriculum development and / or commercial activity and participating in other academic activities within the School, Department and University as negotiated with the Dean of School/Head of Department.

Skills and experience needed

To undertake the role, we are looking for someone with teaching, professional or research experience within the field of nutrition & dietetics. They must be motivated to teach and have effective communication and interpersonal skills. We need someone who is flexible, able to work cheerfully as part of a team, to multi-task and to meet deadlines. A friendly and outgoing disposition will be an asset especially for recruitment and admissions activities.

Qualifications required

We are looking for a person with an MSc in a relevant science, and study in nutrition & dietetics or related discipline at undergraduate level or above. Holding a PhD and/or a qualification in learning and teaching in higher education would be desirable.
