Learning Partnerships Officer

Open University - The OU in Scotland

The Open University’s mission is to be open: open to people, open to places, open to methods and ideas. We don’t ask for entry qualifications. We promote opportunity and social justice by making quality higher education accessible to everyone that wants to fulfil their potential. We do things differently.

As part of the External Engagement and Partnerships Team you will be responsible for growing and enhancing the Open University in Scotland’s work with external partners and stakeholders, particularly with employers.

You will develop and grow a portfolio of initiatives, working alongside colleagues to further develop our engagement with employers and the OU’s reputation as a preferred provider of work-based learning. You will also actively contribute to our evaluation work, ensuring that our approaches to employer partnerships are underpinned by a strong evidence base.

You will have first class project management skills, the ability to communicate and build partnerships with a range of stakeholders, and a strong understanding of current policy and practice in higher education. An understanding of the external policy environment in relation to apprenticeships, skills development and the role that higher education can play in growing Scotland’s economy would also be advantageous.

You will be based in Edinburgh, but will be required to travel throughout Scotland and periodically to the Open University’s central campus in Milton Keynes.

Interview date: 31 October 2017
