Archivist: Yorkshire Historic Dictionary Project

The Yorkshire Dictionary from Historic Sources will create a published book and an accompanying interactive website devoted to words used in Yorkshire historic records. As editor you will put together both project outputs, working from data supplied by the Dictionary’s compiler, and with the project’s technical developer. You will be familiar with Yorkshire records and archive services, have an aptitude for working with a range of people, and be able to work to a tight deadline. This high-profile project offers you a unique opportunity to build a research tool of lasting significance to researchers and the wider public.

Based in the Borthwick Institute for Archives, you will be part of a lively and supportive archive community. The project is supported by the Marc Fitch Fund in memory of Professor David Hey.

The salary will be within the range of £31,604 - £35,550 per year on a fixed term contract (58 weeks). This is a full time position (37 hours a week) and is available immediately. A flexi-time scheme operates which allows for flexible working within operational guidelines.
