The Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication provides breadth to the study of science, engineering and medicine with a range of humanities-focused courses and modules, including Imperial Horizons for undergraduates. The programme aims to put science in the context of the wider world and to develop interdisciplinary approaches to learning and thinking. This programme includes a range of courses in the field of Languages and global citizenship. We are looking for a course tutor to teach Japanese in this programme.

The post involves planning and teaching Japanese language classes to students from across the College and marking and examination duties.  Imperial Horizons classes run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16.00 – 18.00 (with a total of 40 contact hours over the Autumn and Spring Terms). This teaching is subject to sufficient student enrolment.  We are looking for someone to teach on Thursdays 16.00-18.00 starting Thursday 12 October.

The salary will be £61.57 per contact hour.

The College cannot normally apply for a Certificate of Sponsorship for this post under Tier 2 of the UKVI’s Points Based System. Any candidate, who is considering applying for this position and requires sponsorship, must ensure that they are able to obtain permission to work in the UK through an appropriate immigration route.
